Pop Vocal Ensemble at William Paterson University

Pop Vocal Ensemble, directed by Thomas Paster is a small, highly select, commercial vocal ensemble that performs a wide variety of musical styles with students from across the university with a focus on a cappella music. This ensemble was formed in the spring of 2017 to combine tight harmonies and beat-boxing for advanced singers. They primarily cover pop music, but also incorporate elements from other genres including alternative rock, R & B, and original arrangements. Since their debut, the Advanced Pop Ensemble has performed at the Highlands A Cappella Festival with 22 groups from NJ, NY, & PA and on major concerts in the Department of Music in addition to Pop Dialogue Days and Midday performances. The ensemble worked with Ben Bram (Arranger/Producer for Pentatonix) and Chesney Snow (World Champion Beatboxer and In Transit on Broadway) in the Spring of 2017.

This ensemble is open to any student at William Paterson by audition.
